A MOST UNUSUAL 22-BORE NEEDLE-FIRE CONVERSION OF AN ENFIELD-TYPE SERVICE-MUSKET, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
probably Belgian, with 23 3/4in. barrel (external shallow pitting), the rear-hinged upwards-lifting breech-block with straight bolt-handle to the right-hand side lifting and drawing back to unlock the block, Belgian black powder proofs, plain bar-action lock of military form, the hammer breast fitted with a horizontal bar running through a guide attached to the side of breech at hinge and joining via a link to the firing pin, walnut half-stock probably cut down from full at conversion, iron furniture, single barrel-band and provision for clearing rod (absent)
